:: Consular Registration ::

All Portuguese Citizens, residing outside of Portugal should register at the Portuguese Consulate closer to your residence.

You will be in the Consulate database and under Consular protection.

Note that, in order to request a document to this Consulate you will need to be registered.
The Consular Registration is an attendance required act, except for children younger than 10 years old. In this case, the legal representative can register the child.

In order to make proof that you are registered in this Consulate, you will receive a Consular Registration Card.

Note that you can only register if you have Portuguese Nationality and a valid Portuguese ID Card (Bilhete de Identidade).

If your ID card has expired you can make a provisory registration, but in this case the Consulate (Portuguese Consulate in Riyadh) will not be able to issue any documents in your name.

  • For children younger than 10 years old that don’t have Portuguese ID Card: “Cédula Pessoal” or birth Certificate

The Consular registration will be processed in the Portuguese Consulate in Riyadh, and can take one week to be ready.

The costs of the Consular Registration are 3,300 BD per person.

If you have a Bahraini passport or other nationality passport, and you are resident in Bahrain, you will need to apply to the French Embassy, German Embassy or Italian Embassy. Please check the list below.

What documents do I need to get a Visa?

BAHRAINI PASSPORT HOLDERS:
(Should apply to French Embassy, German Embassy or Italian Embassy in Manama)

▪ Application form duly filled in and signed by the passport holders
▪ One recent photograph document size
▪ Copy of passport
▪ Copy of CPR
▪ Copy of previous Schengen Visas, if any
▪ Letter from the employer including applicant’s name, job title, job seniority, salary and purpose of the visit (tourism, family, business, medical, etc)
▪ For business visit only: Copy of the Trade License (CR)
▪ For business visit only: invitation letter from the host Company in Portugal
▪ Copy of air ticket or print out
▪ Copy of Hotel reservation or a lodging certificate certified by the local authorities of Schengen States
▪ Travel Insurance is MANDATORY (Covering the eventual exp-enses of repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and/or emergency hospitalization. This insurance must be valid for the whole territory of the states fully applying the Schengen provisions and for the whole period of validity of the visa.
▪ Bank account statement of the previous 6 moths
▪ Optional: copy of credit card
▪ For applicants under 18: Parental authorization*(1) with copy of the father’s CPR
▪ Fees are to be paid the day you submit your application

* (1) Parental authorization Forms are available at the Embassy

OTHER NATIONALITIES RESIDENTS IN BAHRAIN:
(Should apply to French Embassy, German Embassy or Italian Embassy in Manama)

▪ Original and Copy of CPR
▪ Copy of previous Schengen Visas, if any
▪ Copy of the resident permit and re-entry visa to Bahrain valid for at least 3 months after the validity of the requested visa
▪ Letter from the employer including applicant’s name, job title, job seniority, salary and purpose of the visit (tourism, family, business, medical, etc) and repatriation guarantee
▪ For business visit only: Copy of the Trade License (CR)
▪ For business visit only: invitation letter from the host Company in Portugal
▪ Copy of air ticket or print out
▪ Copy of Hotel reservation or a lodging certificate certified by the local authorities of Schengen States
▪ Travel Insurance is MANDATORY (Covering the eventual exp-enses of repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and/or emergency hospitalization. For long stays visas (more then 90 consecutive days), please contact the Embassy in order to book an interview

SAUDI PASSPORT HOLDERS:

▪ Two recent photographs document size
▪ Original and copy of passport
▪ Copy of Identification card
▪ Copy of previous Schengen Visas, if any
▪ Letter from the employer; including applicant’s name, job title, job seniority, salary and purpose of the visit (tourism, family, business, medical, etc). This letter must be legalized (stamped) by the Chamber of Commerce.
▪ For business visit only: Copy of the Trade License
▪ For business visit only: invitation letter from the host Company in Portugal
▪ Copy of air ticket or print out
▪ Copy of Hotel reservation or a lodging certificate certified by the local authorities of Schengen States
▪ Travel Insurance is MANDATORY (Covering the eventual exp-enses of repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and/or emergency hospitalization. This insurance must be valid for the whole territory of the states fully applying the Schengen provisions and for the whole period of validity of the visa.
